Original Poetry Competition 2004
This competition is only open to Secondary school students
The theme for this year is: Dante o Petrarca o un altro italiano illustre
Teachers please emphasize to your students that the themes are merely that - ideas for the poem. THE POEM'S FIRST LINE SHOULD NOT BE THE NAME OF THE THEME. If students prefer they may choose their own theme

Instructions:
*Poems must be original and written by individuals, not groups.
*Poems are to be written on a single sheet of paper.
*Poems are not to be illustrated.
*Poems will not be returned.
*Poems may be used by the Dante Alighieri Society for Publication and Broadcasting.
*Poems should be clearly labeled with students name, school, year level and "Section Entered*" (see below).
*Each entry will be judged against entries for the same year level.
*Teachers are asked to group students in year levels and sections.
*Students who speak or hear Italian spoken at home or who have other regular contact with the Italian language other than tuition received at school must be entered in the Italian section.
